Privacy Policy

What we collect

RoastedResume.app collects the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

Resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and interview answer content — text you paste or extract from a PDF for any tool in the suite. This is sent to the Anthropic API to generate your roast and is not stored on our servers after your session ends.
Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Email address — if you purchase the Career Pass, Stripe passes us the email address you checked out with, and we store it on our server alongside your purchase record. This lets you restore your Career Pass on a different device or browser by entering that email — we look it up against our payment records and unlock the pass if it's still valid. For single-tool purchases (Resume Glow-Up, Cover Letter Rewrite, etc.) we still receive this email from Stripe but do not use it for anything beyond order-support purposes.
Session data — a temporary session cookie is used solely to enforce the free daily usage limits (per tool). It contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.
Reviews — if you submit a review, we store your name, job title (if provided), star rating, and comment text. These are displayed publicly on the site.

What we do not collect

We do not create user accounts or ask you to set a password
We do not use advertising trackers, Facebook Pixel, or Google Analytics
We do not sell or share your resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, or interview content with any third party other than the Anthropic API for processing
We do not store any of that content after your session ends

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate RoastedResume.app:

Anthropic — your text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the AI roast, rewrite, or report. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed through their API.
Stripe — all payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your payment data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We receive a payment confirmation, session ID, and (for receipt and Career Pass restore purposes) the email address used at checkout — never your card details.

Data retention

Resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, and interview content is processed in real time and not stored. Payment records (session ID, tier purchased, checkout email, timestamp, and — for the Career Pass — expiration date) are stored in a secure file on our server and used solely to verify and deliver purchased services, including the Career Pass email-based restore lookup. Review content is stored indefinitely unless you request deletion.

Your rights

You may request deletion of any review you have submitted, or of the email address tied to your payment record, by contacting us at support@roastedresume.app. Since we do not create user accounts, there is no broader profile data to request beyond your payment record.

      Short version: Your resume/letter/profile/answer text is sent to the AI and then discarded. Payments go through Stripe. If you buy the Career Pass, we store the checkout email so you can restore access later — otherwise we don't track you, sell your data, or store your content.

Acceptance of terms

By using RoastedResume.app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old to use this service or make purchases.

What the service is

RoastedResume.app provides AI-generated feedback across a suite of career tools — resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, job-match, and interview-answer roasts and rewrites — for entertainment and informational purposes. The roasts, scores, and suggestions are generated by an AI model and are intended to be both humorous and useful. They do not constitute professional career advice.

      Important: RoastedResume.app is an AI tool, not a human career counselor or recruiter. Results are generated automatically. We make no guarantee that following the suggestions will result in job interviews, offers, or any specific employment outcome.
    

Free tier

Free users may submit up to 3 free roasts per day, per tool (Resume, Cover Letter, Match Report, LinkedIn, and Interview each have their own daily limit; the Thank-You Note Generator allows 5 per day). Results are generated on demand and not stored. Rate limits are enforced by session cookie and may be reset by clearing your browser session.

Paid tiers

Paid products (Resume Glow-Up, Glow-Up Monthly, Full Rewrite, Cover Letter Rewrite, Match Report, LinkedIn Rewrite, Interview Answer Rewrite) unlock AI-generated improvement suggestions delivered immediately after payment. These are one-time or subscription purchases as described at checkout. Subscription billing is managed by Stripe and may be cancelled at any time through Stripe's customer portal.

Career Pass

The Career Pass is a one-time $24.99 purchase that grants unlimited access to every paid tier across the entire suite (Resume, Cover Letter, Match Report, LinkedIn, and Interview, including unlimited regenerations) for 90 days from the date of purchase. Access does not renew automatically — it simply expires after 90 days. You can restore access to an active pass on a different device or browser by entering the email address used at checkout on any tool page.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Submit content belonging to another person without their consent
Attempt to circumvent rate limits through automated requests
Use the service to generate content that violates any applicable law
Reverse engineer, scrape, or reproduce the service or its outputs at scale

Intellectual property

The roast output generated for your resume is yours to use. The RoastedResume brand, design, and code remain the property of the operator. AI-generated suggestions do not carry copyright protection and may be used freely.

Limitation of liability

RoastedResume.app is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to missed job opportunities, career decisions made based on AI output, or service interruptions.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Refund Policy

One-time purchases

Because AI-generated results are delivered immediately upon payment, one-time purchases (Resume Glow-Up at $4.99, Full Rewrite at $19.99, Cover Letter Rewrite at $4.99, Match Report at $6.99, LinkedIn Rewrite at $6.99, Interview Answer Rewrite at $4.99) are generally non-refundable once the results have been generated and delivered.

However, if you experience a technical failure where results were not delivered, contact us within 48 hours at support@roastedresume.app and we will issue a full refund or regenerate your results.

Career Pass

The Career Pass ($24.99, 90 days) is non-refundable once you have used it to generate results on at least one tool. If you purchased the Career Pass and have not yet used it for any paid tool, contact us within 48 hours of purchase for a full refund. The 90-day term is not extended or prorated for partial use.

Monthly subscriptions

You may cancel your Glow-Up Monthly subscription at any time through Stripe's customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial subscription periods.

Contact for disputes

If you believe you were charged in error or experienced a problem with your purchase, email support@roastedresume.app with your Stripe receipt and a description of the issue. We respond within 2 business days.
